No Fae Back Now by Owain Oakwood
This is a paranormal investigation book where a boy is found with no face. The entire face is just missing… enter Argana, the paranormal investigator from the Astral University of Tibet. She’s a down-on-her-luck kind of character who’s trying to figure out if the recent absence of the fae is related to the faceless boy. If you’re interested, read more in my FULL REVIEW
The Edge of a World by JD Rivers
This will be a hit for anyone who enjoys gay romance, trans representation, and is set in an ancient, second-world fantasy setting. The MC is a traveling scholar studying ancient ruins, trying to find a solution to his inner monster that can suck the life force from people — things take drastic turns as he’s captured by slavers in the middle of the desert. Toothsucker by Kaden Love
This was the weirdest book I’ve read this year and I mean that with all my love. This is a book about vampires but they eat teeth instead of blood. It’s as weird and unusual as that sentence suggests. It’s an anticapitalist, disestablishmentarianist, cyberpunk vampire extravaganza. Read more in my FULL REVIEW

The Loss of the Star’s Tranquility by Tobias Begley and Travis R. Riddle
This book was bananas. There were so many characters and yet they all felt real, with their own motivations and purposes, and I was NOT prepared for the back half of this book with all of the reveals and twists and turns. This is a Lord of the Flies meets steampunk fantasy, and it was REALLY good! Read more in my FULL REVIEW
